When Your Glass Line Stops, Every Hour Costs
We’ve all been there. An OEM spare part goes out of stock, and suddenly your entire production line is just… sitting there. Dead air. It’s a nightmare. That’s why we do things differently. Instead of making you wait weeks for a factory shipment, we build custom infrared heating lamps and get them to you in7 days. And no, we aren’t just sending you some generic bulb and hoping for the best. We build a drop-in replacement that fits your machine’s footprint exactly. You plug it in, and you get back to work.
Getting the Heat Right
Glass annealing is a delicate dance. If your temperature gradients are off, you get internal stress, and that means broken glass. We don’t guess. We look at your current transformer output and match the wattage and voltage perfectly. If you’re running a high-voltage system, we tweak the filament density so the lamp doesn’t burn out the moment you flip the switch. One heads-up: if we put higher wattage into a short tube, the heat flux jumps.**Check your reflectors.**If they’re dirty, that extra energy won’t hit the glass—it’ll just bake your housing.
The Nitty-Gritty: Quartz and Connections
We use high-purity quartz because it can take a thermal punch without cracking. Depending on what you’re heating, you can go with clear tubes or coated ones. The coated versions shift the spectrum, which helps the heat soak deeper into thicker glass. As for the wiring? We stick to standard R7s or SK15 bases. It means you can swap the lamp without having to rebuild your holder. But if your original setup used a weird, proprietary lead wire, just let us know. We’ll replicate the exact length and insulation grade so it feels like the original part.
The Reality Check
Here is the thing: these lamps are designed for raw speed and intense heat. Because we’re pushing the quartz to its limit to hit that 7-day deadline, these tubes runhot. Make sure your cooling fans are actually working. If your airflow is blocked, the ends of the lamp will fail. To make sure there are no surprises, we send over the technical specs for you to double-check before the lamp even leaves our shop. That way, you know it fits the rack before it even hits your loading dock.
